Police are searching for a truck driver at large after running over a motorcyclist that fishtailed on a Cincinnati highway.
The accident happened last weekend, February 10th at around 1 p.m. on Interstate 75 southbound near the Hopple Street exit in Cincinnati, Ohio as motorcyclist Kaitlin Ryckman was riding her motorcycle to work.
“I was going 55 mph and I felt my back tires start to wobble,” said Ryckman. “I pulled my clutch to try to brake because I thought I had a flat tire or that someone had hit my back tire. I zoomed up to like 65 or 70 mph. At this point, I was fishtailing. It was terrifying, obviously. Then, I just remember seeing a flash of darkness over my face.”
Passing motorist Nick Lindner saw the accident unfold and stopped to help the woman, reported ABC 7.
“She goes down and the semi runs right over her. She goes under the tires and gets dragged for probably 20 or 30 yards, then she shoots out in front of my vehicle. I jump out of my car real quick to go up to her and just hold her hand and sit with her and tell her that the cops are on the way,” Lindner said.
“He [the truck driver] just hit her and kept on going. I thought he would stop down the road and he didn’t. I just can’t believe somebody would do that. Hit somebody like that, especially on a motorcycle, you know?” said Lindner.
“I just hope someone would do the same for me if that happened. I just got out and was like ‘Somebody has got to be here with her.’ I didn’t want her to be alone.”
Ryckman is currently in the hospital recovering from her incident.
Police are still investigating the crash and searching for the truck driver involved in the incident. Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (513)-352-3040.
