Truck driver wanted for sexual assault while posing as fake Uber

Published:

Police are searching for a truck driver accused of sexually assaulting a woman while posing as a fake Uber driver outside of a California bar.

The alleged kidnapping and assault occurred on April 21st near Fresno, California. Now, police say that the 27-year-old truck driver in question could be anywhere as part of his trucking job.

According to ABC 6, 27-year-old Bikramjit Singh was falsely posing as an Uber driver outside of a bar when a woman got into his car. Singh then drove the woman to a different location where he sexually assaulted her and told her he had committed similar crimes before.

Police investigation revealed that Singh was using his roommate’s SUV to pose as a fake Uber, and had even removed the license plates. Uber has confirmed that the SUV used by Singh was not registered with the rideshare company, and that the victim had not even called for a ride on the evening of the crime. Police have not uncovered any evidence of other victims.

Singh works as an OTR truck driver, and police are not aware of his current whereabouts. Anyone with information on Singh is asked to contact the Clovis Police Department.
