Trucker airlifted to hospital after crashing while avoiding prior wreck

Trucker airlifted to hospital after wrecking his semi truck while attempting to avoid a previous wreck in Miami Thursday morning.

The accident happened on the morning of February 15th in Miami, Florida.

According to NBC Miami, the truck driver was traveling south on Interstate 95 between Ives Dairy Road and Miami Gardens Drive when he swerved to avoid another crash in the road. The trucker then lost control of the rig and crashed through a guardrail before overturning. The force of the impact broke open the trailer and spilled Coca Cola soda cans and water bottles.

The unidentified truck driver was airlifted to a trauma center. Their current condition is unknown.

The wreck forced the closure of all southbound lanes of I-95 in the area. Only one express lane was left open for traffic to pass.
