Trucker dead after murdering girlfriend inside semi truck parked at trucking company.

Both deaths occurred early on Thursday, February 22nd starting at around 3:15 a.m. when the St. Charles County Police Department in Missouri received a call about a shooting in the 1000 block of North Service Road.

According to Fox 2 Now, officers arrived at the trucking company to find a woman shot to death inside of a 2023 Freightliner leased and registered to 28-year-old trucker Clyde E. Young. Officers say that Young placed the call to police, but was not at the scene when they arrived.

Young called again later and told officers that he and the woman were in a relationship, and that the two had gotten into an argument the night before. He told police that he had shot the woman in the head with his shotgun. Young then said that he would turn himself in to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, but then changed his mind and said he would surrender to St. Charles authorities.

Young met St. Charles County police at the Phillips 66 gas station along Highway 67 in West Alton, where he told officers he had a weapon in his truck. At some point during his exchange with police, Young went back to his truck and shots were fired. Police have not disclosed who fired the shots, but Young was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further information has been released as of Thursday afternoon.
