Two people were killed in a crash involving a police cruiser and a big rig on I-40 in Arkansas on Wednesday morning.
The crash occurred at 9:40 a.m. on Wednesday, February 14, on I-40 at the Jennette exit near mile marker 268 in Crittenden County, Arkansas.
Fox 13 reports that a semi truck collided with an Arkansas Highway Police Unit vehicle in the eastbound lanes of I-40.
After striking the police cruiser, the truck hit a guardrail and rolled over.
The semi truck caught fire following the crash.
Two people have been confirmed dead.
A police officer has been hospitalized with injuries from the crash, according to WREG.
Four-mile traffic backups have been reported in the area.
As of 12:30 p.m., transportation officials say that the right lane of eastbound I-40 remains blocked.
