An elderly wrong-way motorist was left pinned with her car’s rear end in the air after a crash with a tractor trailer in Pennsylvania on Tuesday afternoon.
The accident happened on Route 1 in Morrisville, Pennsylvania at about 1:15 p.m.
According to 6 ABC, the crash occurred on the southbound side of the interstate near Pennsylvania Avenue. The 81-year-old woman was reportedly heading north in the southbound lanes when she collided with the semi truck. The force of the collision pinned the car against the barrier wall with the nose pointing down and the rear end in the air.
The elderly wrong-way motorist was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The truck driver was also taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.
Route 1 was shut down in both directions as police investigated the accident. No further information has been released.
