Florida man fell off motorcycle and into path of oncoming semi truck in fatal accident

A motorcyclist is dead after falling off his bike on the Palmetto Expressway early on Tuesday morning. 

The accident happened at about 5:40 a.m. on the Palmette Expressway at Northwest 67th Avenue on March 4th near Miami Lakes, Florida.

The Florida Highway Patrol says that the man on the motorcycle “lost control and fell off… coming to rest on the roadway. An oncoming tractor trailer then collided into the motorcyclist.”

The man died of his injuries at the scene. His identity has not been released, reported NBC Miami.

Lanes were closed as a result of the incident, causing traffic to back up past Northwest 154th Street. The incident is still under investigation.
