“Gulf of Buc-ee’s” gag gains traction online in wake of proposed name change

A silly counter to Donald Trump’s proposed name change for the Gulf of Mexico has gained traction on the internet thanks to the cult following of one gas station that is clearly anti-trucker. 

In the wake of Trump’s idea to change the name “Gulf of Mexico” to “Gulf of America,” several politicians have posted their own ideas for the name change. The one that caught our attention? A post from Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw, who suggested the notoriously anti-trucker gas station be the namesake of the body of water through a post featuring the Buc-ee’s logo on a map with the name “Gulf of Buc-ee’s.”

Buc-ee’s notoriously bans any and all truck drivers from their facilities, even if their rigs are parked elsewhere. With that in mind, we’re not sure we can get behind the Buc-ee’s name change, even if their bathrooms are spotless and their snack selection is unparalleled.
