HOS requirements waived for drivers hauling heating fuel in Nebraska

Hours of Service requirements are waived until 2026 for truck drivers hauling heating fuel in Nebraska. 

Governor Pillen issued an executive order on Monday, December 22nd to provide emergency relief due to increased demand for heating products across the Midwest. The HOS waiver is effective immediately and will persist until January 3rd, 2026 at 11:50 p.m. 

According to a press release, truck drivers hauling heating fuel, heating oil, or fuel used to generate power for residential heat into Nebraska or within the state of Nebraska will fall under the HOS waiver. 

Drivers operating under the order are advised to keep a copy of the order with them.
