Iowa State Patrol nabs big rig driver on I-380 for missing tires

The Iowa State Patrol Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit is asking truckers to check their mirrors and stay alert after encountering a semi truck driver with major tire troubles.

On January 8, Iowa troopers encountered a tractor trailer on I-380 and conducted a traffic stop.

“Not only were both tires missing but, due to the trailer being loaded, it resulted in the remaining dual set being extremely overweight,” the Iowa State Patrol said.

The incident also prompted the Iowa State Patrol to advise truckers to “check your mirrors often and pay attention to other motorist who may be trying to tell you something is wrong!”
