Men armed with AK still at large as fifth person dies following fatal crash on I-35

A fifth person has died as police continue to search for a small group of men who fled a fatal crash on I-35 armed with an AK style rifle. 

The accident happened last week, on Thursday, July 17th on Interstate 35 near San Antonio, Texas. In the accident, a Camaro collided with a small bus hailing a trailer as it attempted to flee from police. The bus was then struck by a semi truck. 

Two people died at the scene, and four men in the Camaro escaped the crash on foot armed with an AK style rifle. 13 people were hospitalized with minor injuries, while eight people suffered life threatening injuries. 

As of Tuesday afternoon, the men had still not been found and a fifth person had died, reported KSAT 12. The remaining two patients left at the hospital are in “good” and “fair” condition, respectively.
