One person is dead and three are injured after a crash involving three Chevy pickups and a tractor trailer on Tuesday morning.
The accident happened at about 6:05 a.m. on September 23rd on Interstate 85 near mile marker 2 in Oconee County, South Carolina near the Georgia border.
According to Fox Carolina, a Honda sedan was slowed for construction traffic on northbound I-85 when a tractor trailer rear ended it, pushing it into a 2019 Chevrolet pickup truck. That pickup was then pushed into a 1998 Chevrolet pickup truck. The semi truck and the Honda then crashed through the cable barrier in the median and struck a 2015 Chevrolet pickup on the southbound side of of the highway.
The 34-year-old motorist Rafael B. Veloz had to be extricated from his vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by 7:10 a.m. The drivers of each of the Chevy pickups had to be transported to a hospital. The truck driver was not hurt in the incident.
