The PHOENIX ELD has been removed from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s list of approved devices.
The PHOENIX ELD was removed on October 23rd and includes the PHOENIX ELD from provider Phoenix ELD. Model number: PHOELD and ELD Identifier: PRS973.
Motor carriers have up to 60 days to replace the revoked ELD with an ELD in compliance with FMCSA standards. Anyone using the revoked ELD must discontinue its use and revert to paper logs. The ELD must be replaced by December 22, 2025.
Safety officials are urged not to cite drivers using the revoked ELDs for No record of duty status” and “Failing to use a registered ELD.” Paper logs, logging software, or the ELd display may be used as backup methods to review hours-of-service data.
Drivers found using the PHOENIX ELD after December 22nd will be considered operating without an ELD.
