A tractor trailer plowed through 20 vehicles slowed for traffic on Interstate 95 in Miami-Dade county on Thursday night.
The accident happened just before 11:30 p.m. on August 28th in north Miami-Dade county.
According to WSVN News, the tractor trailer was heading south on I-95 when it failed to brake and struck 20 vehicles slowed for traffic. 29 people were injured in the chain-reaction crash. 13 of those people were transported to a hospital, including one person that was taken to a trauma center.
The accident forced officials to divert traffic onto Ives Diary Road for cleanup of the accident and a fuel spill. The interstate was shut down until about 6 a.m. on Friday morning, August 29th.
The truck driver in the incident will face charges according to the Florida Highway Patrol, but details on those charges have not been released.
