A truck driver says he will help out his family with the cash from a recent lottery win in Connecticut earlier this month.
The trucker says he was on his way back to Waterbury, Connecticut from Virginia when he stopped at a Wheels Convenience Store on Old Gate Lane in Milford. The driver says he bought a Powerball ticket, as he usually does, and got back on the road.
On August 6th, his ticket ended up matching four of the five white balls – a win worth $50,000. However, the driver had chosen the Power Play option, giving him a 2x multiplier which resulted in a $100,000 win.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes,” the trucker said to the Connecticut Lottery.
The truck driver says he always lets the computer choose his numbers, and that it worked out in his favor. He says he will use the prize money to help out his family.
