A truck driver plans to help out his daughter after winning the lottery in Maryland this month.
The anonymous St. Mary’s County truck driver, and subsequently his kid, is the first winner of the $50,000 prize for the new Bonus Bingo X20 2nd Edition scratch-off game, which launched this month.
According to Southern Maryland Chronicle, the truck driver frequently buys scratch-offs and waits to play them until after his driving shift. One evening when he sat down to scratch them, he noticed that he had multiple matches. To double check, he scanned the ticket with his phone, and confirmed that he had won $50,000.
“I was shocked, and I was very happy,” he said.
The ticket was purchased at the Food Lion at 40955 Merchant Lane in Leonardtown. The driver says he plans to use the prize money to help out his daughter.
