Fired truck driver facing felony charges for stealing company semi truck after termination

A truck driver is facing felony charges for stealing a company semi truck after he was fired from his driving job at the Pennsylvania company.

The incident happened in Pine Creek Township, Pennsylvania this week involving a business on Service Center Road at about 7:30 a.m.

According to Gant News, the company notified 37-year-old truck driver Michael Jamar White that he was fired while on the property. As the company was working to arrange a ride for him to return to his home in Philadelphia, White reportedly took a green 2017 Freightliner Cascadia company semi truck from the property.

The company was able to track the truck using GPS, and contacted Pennsylvania State Police to report the incident. Police were able to stop the semi truck at mile marker 40.7 on Interstate 476 with the help of the GPS and discovered White behind the wheel.

White was taken into custody and charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property – both felonies – and unauthorized use of motor vehicles – a misdemeanor. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 2nd.
