FMCSA takes another ELD out-of-service, making it the 80th device revoked since January 2025

Truckers have sixty days to act after the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) revoked another electronic logging device (ELD).

On June 23, 2026, FMCSA added TRUCKSTAFF ELD to the agency’s list of revoked devices for failure to meet minimum federal requirements.

The TRUCKSTAFF ELD is the 43rd ELD to be added to the revoked devices list in 2026. It is the 80th ELD to be revoked since January 2025.

“FMCSA will continue to take appropriate action when devices fail to meet the agency’s requirements because accurate and reliable hours-of-service records are essential to safety, compliance, and accountability across the industry,” said FMCSA Administrator Derek D. Barrs.

See below for device specifications:

Carriers have 60 days to replace the revoked ELD with a compliant device.

Until a replacement ELD is obtained, drivers should discontinue using the revoked ELD and revert to paper logs or logging software to record required hours of service data.

After August 23, 2026, drivers still using the revoked ELD will be cited for “No record of duty status” and placed out-of-service.

In December 2025, the FMCSA promised an overhaul of the ELD vetting process to ensure that non-compliant devices are never allowed onto the agency’s list of approved devices in the first place.
