Family members say that a truck driver who went missing from a Florida rest area earlier this month has been found dead, according to local reports.
Missing truck driver Alejandro Jacomino Gonzalez, 41, has been found dead, family members told Miami outlet NBC6.
The outlet reports that Gonzalez’s cousin, Juan Carlos Forcade, said that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) told Gonzalez’s wife on April 28 that her husband was found dead in Georgia.
On April 24, 2026, the FBI issued a missing person’s alert for Gonzalez and called for video and photo evidence to assist in their investigation into the “suspicious disappearance.”
The incident was under investigation as a possible hijacking.
Gonzalez picked up a load of multiple vehicles from the Port of Brunswick in Georgia on April 16.
The load of vehicles was scheduled for delivery to a location in Miami, Florida.
Shortly after 1 a.m. on April 17, Gonzalez stopped and rested for several hours at the Brevard County Rest Area off I-95 south near Grant-Valkaria, Florida, according to authorities.
Just before 8 a.m. on April 17, the GPS on Gonzalez’s truck indicated it was driven drove south one exit and then turned north towards Jacksonville, Florida. Contact was lost with Gonzalez shortly after.
Also on April 17, the truck was later recovered Port Wentworth, Georgia, but Gonzalez and several of the vehicles he was hauling were missing. Some of the missing vehicles have since been recovered.
