Page Trucking Enterprises is investing more than half a million dollars into a terminal in central Kentucky this year because the state has a steady supply of “people who know how to do things.”
Page Trucking Enterprises will invest over half a million dollars into a 10 acre site in Morgantown, Kentucky as a way to expand operations in the region and bring more jobs to the community.
“In Kentucky we’ve found there’s a lot of blue-collar skill and people who know how to do things,” said Piper Titus, chief financial officer of Page Trucking Enterprises “That’s really important for our business.”
The facility renovation will include more truck maintenance bays, better workspace for technicians, and better amenities for truck drivers.
“There’s a lot of manufacturing in that area, especially metal production and recycling businesses,” Titus said to WNKY40. “Continuing to grow our business in Kentucky has a lot of potential because of the customer base we already have there.”
“We transport other people’s commodities. We don’t do things like food or consumer goods. We move a lot of industrial materials like scrap metal, ingots, coils, finished metal products and waste byproducts from manufacturing… It’s a really highly concentrated area for us of customers, trucks, trailers, drivers and repair services,” he added.
The company also hopes the expanded facility will help them to find and train the next generation of truck drivers in a region with “people who know how to do things.”
“Being able to train the next generation of employees is paramount to our success and sustainability moving forward,” Titus said. “Our goal is to get people into the industry and expose them to it… Trucking is an incredible career, and we hope people start to see it that way.”
