Two dead after Papa John’s truck overturns in chain-reaction crash

Two people are dead after a Papa John’s truck overturned in a chain reaction crash involving another semi truck and a pickup.

The accident happened on Interstate 75 north near the Wade Green Road and Hickory Grove Road exits in Acworth, Georgia on April 3rd at around 8:45 a.m.

According to WSBTV, a red Freightliner Cascadia with a Papa John’s trailer was heading north in the right lane when the driver failed to maintain his lane and hit  another tractor trailer. The first truck then moved back into the right lane, and a pickup truck crashed into the back of it.

The pickup truck was then pushed across multiple lanes of traffic as the Papa John’s truck overturned and crashed through a sound barrier wall along the shoulder of the highway. The driver of the truck, 28-year-old Zory Beavers, and the passenger in the truck, 42-year-old Royan Osborne, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The other drivers involved in the accident were not hurt.

“We are actively cooperating with local authorities as they work to determine the circumstances of the incident and assess any impact. Our thoughts are with all those who may be affected, and we will continue to support the investigation as it moves forward,” Papa John’s wrote in a statement.
