Washington troopers targeting aggressive motorists & semi trucks in poor condition using aviation and motorcycles during blitz

The Washington State Patrol is targeting aggressive motorists and semi trucks in poor condition by using their aviation unit and motorcycles this week.

The targeted enforcement started on Wednesday, February 18th and will run through Thursday, February 19th until 10 p.m. in Thurston County, Washington.

According to KOMO, the troopers will utilize aviation, motorcycles, and commercial vehicle inspectors during the blitz. The focus of the enforcement will be on motorists driving aggressively around semi trucks, and semi trucks that are not up to inspection standards.

“All these improper maneuvers that people are doing that are causing our semis to crash, and semi truck drivers themselves that are not taking accountability before going out on the roadway,” said Trooper Kameron Watts. “Making sure these vehicles are properly inspected before they hit the roadway will solve a lot of these issues.”

“It’s a team effort, and we’re seeing good results for us so far,” said Trooper Kameron Watts. “A lot of these truck drivers are educated, and they know what to do, but there are a few that mess it up for everyone.”
