‘Maximum enforcement’: Troopers to increase patrols in multiple states this weekend

Law enforcement across the county will be adding additional patrols over the long Labor Day weekend.

Numerous law enforcement agencies across the country will be amping up patrols to catch impaired drivers, but they’ll also be on the lookout for other driving violations, including speeding, distracted driving, and seatbelt violations.

Sober Driving ‘Essential’ for Safe Roadways During Labor Day

Sober Driving ‘Essential’ for Safe Roadways During Labor Day! Law enforcement from around the entire state are teaming up with The North Carolina Governors Highway Safety Program over the Labor Day holiday season to get impaired drivers off our roadways. Labor Day is one of the most dangerous times for travel behind New Year’s Eve, Christmas and St. Patrick’s Day. Over the 2019 holiday week, 10 people died and almost 600 were injured as a direct result of impaired driving in NC. 66 additional lives were claimed due to speeding, distracted and sleepy driving. We here at NCGHSP know that high-visibility enforcement reduces drunk driving fatalities as much as 20 percent, so our partners will be out in full force! Please, if you plan to unwind this Labor Day, do so safely. Plan ahead if you plan to drink, call a ride-share, take public transportation or phone a friend if you become impaired. Simply ask someone for help!More information about this campaign here:http://bit.ly/Booze&ItLoseItLaborDay2020Please LIKE, COMMENT and SHARE!
