COMMERCIAL TRUCK DRIVING

BECOME PART OF AN ESSENTIAL INDUSTRY.

The commercial truck driving industry is not only vital to a thriving economy, it is a vital part of our everyday lives. J-Tech Institute’s 4- or 8-week Commercial Truck Driving and CDL Program is helping students acquire the skills necessary to prepare for the Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Examination and to launch successful careers as commercial truck drivers.

SPECIALIZED CDL TRAINING AT J-TECH

The Commercial Trucking Driving Program provides a 170-hour training program that is aligned with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) Entry Level Driver Training Regulation (ELDT) and the Compliance, Safety, and Accountability program (CSA). Students will learn the key fundamentals of the CSA initiative that include the (7) Behavior Analysis Safety Improvement Categories (BASICs): unsafe driving, fatigued driving, driver fitness, controlled substances and alcohol, vehicle maintenance, cargo related issues, and crash intervention while completing their training as an entry-level commercial truck driver.

All graduates will have developed the basic skills necessary to pass the Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License Examination and enter the truck driving profession. For the convenience of our students, the J-Tech Commercial Truck Driving Program will offer third-party CDL testing on-site to all qualified graduates who have completed ELDT training, hold a valid Driver’s License and a Class A Commercial Learner’s Permit,. Students will be exposed to various recruiters during their training and will receive assistance with job placement. Students are encouraged throughout the training program to complete employment applications and to identify their future employer prior to graduation. Graduates should arrange to attend orientation with their new employer immediately upon passing the third-party CDL test.
