The box truck driver accused of killing five bicyclists outside of Las Vegas late last year has pleaded guilty.
The accident happened on December 10th in Searchlight, Nevada, when Jordan Barson crashed his box truck through a large group of bicyclists on the highway.
Barson was found to have “extremely high levels of meth” in his system immediately following the crash, but says that the crash was an accident, and he did not intentionally hurt anyone.
“I…I guess I fell asleep because I don’t remember I…. I remember hitting those people…” he told investigating officers at the scene.
Barson entered the guilty pleas on Tuesday, April 20th. He will be sentenced on June 9th and is facing up to 40 years in prison.
