Driver dies while chaining up in suspected cardiac event

Truck driver dies while chaining up on the side of the road in Oregon on Wednesday morning. 

The incident occurred on Wednesday, February 28th near Spring Creek in Union County, Oregon. 

According to Elkhorn Media Group, the driver was chaining up at milepost 249 on Interstate 84 when he suffered what police believe to be a cardiac event. 

The unresponsive driver was later found by a passing motorist, who contacted 911. First responders performed CPR at the scene, and the driver was transported to a nearby hospital. 

The driver was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver has not been publicly identified. An investigation into the incident is underway.
