Driver’s missed delivery leads to his arrest in throat-cutting incident

A driver has been arrested as a suspect after an incident that left another trucker with a cut throat in Wisconsin earlier this week. 

The driver was arrested near Hickory, Kentucky on Wednesday, October 23rd for an October 21st incident in West Salem, Wisconsin. 

According to WEAU 13, two drivers got into an altercation in West Salem on Monday, leaving one driver with a substantial cut to his throat and chest. The suspected driver then fled the scene, leaving the wounded driver to seek medical care. The wounded driver is expected to make a full recovery. 

After the incident, an arrest warrant was issued for 59-year-old Paul Stokes after he missed a delivery in Wisconsin and fled the state. Stokes was found traveling on US highway 45 near Hickory, Kentucky at about 2 p.m. on October 22nd. He was arrested about an hour later on southbound State Highway 22 near Dresden, Tennessee. 

Stokes is currently being held in the Weakley County Detention Center on suspicion of 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety, use of a dangerous weapon, and substantial battery.
