Some can’t-live-without-mobile-apps are free. Just beware – some apps are free to download, but some also charge you small fees for services as you go. It’s not a deal-breaker, but keep your eyes open as you use them to avoid some surprises down the road.
Over the past few weeks, trucking company employees have been recommending some pretty great things to us. One of them is PayPal Mobile. Like PayPal Online, the mobile app is convenient, secure, quick and has some really nice features you can’t get through the website. This isn’t a sorta-there branded mobile app. It’s obvious that PayPal put a lot of thought into user experience and mobile phone features when they were creating the code for the program.
Getting Started With PayPal Mobile
To use the service, you must have an active account or create a PayPal account to begin. After the initial steps, you then register your phone
number and create a PIN code. PayPal uses an automated system to call you on the phone and verify the PIN. After that the phone is then usable and you can start moving money from your bank account, credit cards of savings into the account.
Sending Money With PayPal Mobile
To send a person to person payment, you either text the payment amount and recipient’s phone number to PayPal, or call a toll free number and follow the directions. OR, and we think this is cool – if you’re in the same room with the person you’re sending money to, you can just bump phones and BAM! Instant cash transfer.
PayPal Mobile can also be used to buy things from companies, not just people. It’s called Text to Buy. Anytime you see Text to Buy next to something you want – on a poster, in a magazine, at an event – you can securely order the item by text message. To use it, you text PayPal the item number, and they call you back to confirm the purchase. Wham, bam, thank you m’am!
