Report: The Most Dangerous Rollover Locations By State

Published:

The American Transportation Research Institute has produced a database of state-by-state locations of the highest frequency of large truck rollover accidents.  The Institute recorded more than 50,000 rollover crashes from 2001-2009, from 31 participating states.

From 2001-2009, there were more than 48,000 recorded rollover accidents in the participating states.

The states with the highest number of rollover accidents are Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Missouri.

This research is not only important to the trucking industry, as it informs drivers of potentially dangerous locations, but it should also jump-start the dialogue between industry and government to work together to improve safety at these sites, commented Steve Niswander, Vice President of Safety Policy and Regulatory Relations for Groendyke Transport.
