Ice Cream Truck Turf Wars

Published:

Ice cream truck turf wars? Apparently it’s a thing in New York. An ice cream truck driver known as ‘Sno Cone Joe’ actually stalked and threatened his rival driver – ‘Mr. Ding-A-Ling.’

Sno-Cone-JoeDriver, Joshua Malatino – owner of ‘Sno Cone Joe’ was arrested earlier this month for stalking and taunting the driver of the ‘Mr. Ding-A-Ling’ truck – after his truck had been out on the streets for less than a week. Although Malatino has been known to intimidate the competition in the past – this time he went too far. ‘Sno Cone Joe’ was reported to have shouted to ‘Mr. Ding-A-Ling,’ “You don’t have a chance, this is my town!” Reports also say that ‘Sno Cone Joe’ followed the ‘Mr. Ding-A-Ling’ truck around town, blaring his jingle, and attempting to steal the ‘Mr. Ding-A-Ling’ customers. He even went as far as to offer free ice cream to passers by.

Joshua Malatino and his girlfriend Amanda Scott were charged with harassment, misdemeanor stalking, and could face up to three months in jail.
