Sense+ App Provides Protection From Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Published:

Carbon monoxide – a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas is a very real danger for drivers. A new iPhone dock called Sense+ from Tonic Product Design which is specially designed to detect carbon monoxide (as well as smoke) could be an amazing solution – and a great way to kill two birds with one stone (no more pesky cords)!

The design is still a prototype, but Sense+, in conjunction with the Sense+ app utilizes a built-in photoelectric detector to keep users safe from smoke and toxic gas!

In the event that Sense+ were to detect smoke or carbon monoxide, it would sound an alert and open up the Sense+ application. If the application receives no response from the user upon emitting the alert, it will call preset numbers and will also attempt to auto-dial or prompt a call to emergency services (911).

Currently the dock is only designed to charge an iPhone 5 using a lightning connection (it functions off of an internal battery, and also can be plugged into a main power source), however plans to create versions to fit Android and Windows phones have been made.
