A thirteen year old and a sixteen year old were arrested yesterday after stealing a big rig and driving it dangerously as part of what police are calling “a bit of a crime spree.”
Police Receive Reports Of Semi’s Dangerous Driving
The crime spree came to an end yesterday around 8 a.m. in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, when police received word of a semi driving erratically. According to witnesses, the truck had nearly hit multiple vehicles while attempting to make a turn onto the Alaskan Highway.
The driver didn’t stop when police tried to pull the truck over, so police chose not to pursue for safety reasons.
Later, an officer in an unmarked vehicle was able to get in front of the truck and force it to stop.
Police Find Two Teens In Stolen Truck
Police arrested a thirteen year old behind the wheel and a sixteen year old female passenger.
Investigators believe that the two had stolen a pickup in Dawson Creek, crashed it, then stole an ATV, and finally stole the semi they were captured in.
The pair are facing charges of theft, possession of stolen property over $5,000, dangerous driving, and evading police.
