Tesla is putting out a call for electric Semi Service Technicians

If they’re gonna have trucks out there, they’re gonna need service stations.

Tesla is already on the hunt for candidates interested in helping found their upcoming “Semi Service Program” ahead of the electric rig’s rollout.

While the exact production date of the Tesla electric semi truck is still unclear, the tech company is already looking to hire technicians willing and able to work on these fabled trucks, and they’ve put out a job ad to prove it.

According to Electrek, the job listing introduces the “upcoming new and exciting Semi Service Program” like this: “We are looking for experienced Tesla Service Technicians to support our upcoming new and exciting Semi Service Program. If you are looking to expand your horizons or have experience in the HD Trucking Industry, please see the opportunities below.”

The job ad also explains technicians will be “supporting our first customers and repairing their fleet as needed,” and will be involved in helping make the final adjustments to the beta version of the semi truck.

“Our goal is to find experienced Tesla technicians looking to take their careers to the next level. They will be supporting early development and service creation as well as be the FIRST technicians to provide in person service to our new customers, [and] supporting the Tesla Semi Fleet that will move Tesla cargo between our own factories,” the ad reads.

The advertised position is hiring for Mississauga, Ontario, Canada – the same city where Walmart Canada has its headquarters. It is worth noting that Walmart Canada currently has the largest Tesla semi reservation order.

Although there is certainly still a long way to go when it comes to electric semi truckscharging station infrastructure, a network of service stations, getting the truck batteries built in the first place – it seems Tesla is on its way to a more complete electric trucking industry.
