A trucker’s dangerous double yellow pass attempt was caught on dash cam late last month.
The incident occurred on Highway 5 north of Kamloops, B.C., on March 24, 2023.
In the video, you can see a truck on the wrong side of the double yellow lines as the lane ends, winding up driving the wrong way as traffic approaches.
Trucker John Keating, who behind the wheel of the log truck that you can see in the video, says that he was able to contact the dash cammer on the C.B. radio.
“I sped up and lowbed slowed down, creating enough room for that truck to fit in before having a fatal head on,” Keating told InfoTel News.
“That’s me in the loaded truck and a Borrow lowbed truck with a loader on behind me. We actually blocked the hwy in Barriere and boxed him him to get the plate and his face. Called 911. Obviously the added enforcement isn’t working,” Keating said in a social media post about the incident.
RCMP responded and asked drivers not to take the law into their own hands, according to CBC.
