SUV driver cited for crash that sent big rig plunging off bridge in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) have released more information on a crash that sent a semi truck off of a bridge in Tremont Township over the weekend.

The crash occurred around 5 p.m. on Friday, March 3 on southbound I-81 close to Exit 104 in Tremont Township.

PSP says that an SUV driver “failed to maintain control” and struck the semi truck, causing it to crash off a bridge onto Mollystown Road below.

Despite the heavy damage to the semi truck, Ravine Fire Company District 21 Station 1 reported that there was no entrapment.

Both occupants of the semi truck were uninjured.

Three people in the SUV were hospitalized. Firefighters described the injuries as minor.

The SUV driver was cited, according to WFMZ.
