Cops call out truck driver for speeding, watching a TV show behind the wheel

Published:

Canadian police say that they discovered a truck driver watching a TV show behind the wheel when they pulled the semi over for speeding.

On Tuesday, March 5, Ontario Provincial Police – North West Region (OPP) shared details about a recent commercial vehicle traffic stop that occurred on Highway 11/17 in Shuniah.

OPP’s Thunder Bay division pulled the truck over for speeding, but then discovered a slew of violations.

From OPP:

Members of the Thunder Bay OPP stopped this commercial motor vehicle for doing 119 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone. But that’s not all – the driver was caught watching a movie on their phone while driving and is facing a line-up of charges including, speeding, drive commercial motor vehicle not equipped with speed limiting system, drive display screen visible to driver, exceeding 13 hours driving time in a day, and other log book infractions.

The image shared by OPP appears to show an episode of the television series The FBI Files titled “The Murdering Cowboy” that initially aired in 1998.
