‘Strike team’ cited hundreds of truckers during nine day CMV blitz in New Mexico

New Mexico State Police released the results from a nine day CMV blitz that took place last week.

Troopers with the “New Mexico State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) Strike Team” conducted an enforcement detail in Clayton, New Mexico, February 10 through February 18, 2024.

During the nine day operation, troopers conducted hundreds of Level I, II, and III inspections.

The “Strike Team” issued 243 citations for various violations.

Additionally, 63 commercial vehicles and 30 drivers were taken out of service for critical violations.

“CMVs play a crucial role for the nation and our officers are committed to ensuring they can continue their mission in a safe manner as they travel through New Mexico. The New Mexico State Police will continue to conduct operations like this throughout the year,” troopers said.

New Mexico State Police also conducted a five-hour statewide enforcement operation on February 15 that yielded 50 CMV inspections and three CMV left lane citations.
