Trucking company catches fire during lightning storm

Published:

A trucking company caught fire during a lightning storm in Massachusetts on Tuesday night.

The incident occurred on July 16th at Gurrisi Trucking on Corwin Street in Peabody, Massachusetts.

According to Patch News, the fire started during a lightning storm, although lightning has not officially been determined as the cause of the blaze. Firefighters struggled to get water to the business, as the nearest hydrant was hundreds of yards away.

“The biggest issue tonight was water supply, fighting the fire we got multiple calls stating there was heavy heavy smoke at different locations, but they finally pinned it down to here,” said Peabody Fire Chief Jay Dowling to 7 News Boston.

The trash, dumpsters, and commercial vehicles were burned in the fire. No further information has been released.
