About AJ Weigand

In 1933, Adam J. Weigand began his trucking operation out of Dover, Ohio, with a small dump truck hauling bulk materials and coal, in and around Tuscarawas County. By 1945, the company had grown, and was incorporated, obtaining ICC and PUCO authority for building materials, liquid chemicals, and general freight. Over the next 77 years, AJ Weigand, Inc. had grown and diversified.

In 2006, AJ Weigand, Inc. was purchased by Harmac Transportation to broaden its operating presence in the US and to continue to strengthen its strong safety and service record through a highly regarded and established US carrier. Harmac Transportation and AJ Weigand, Inc. are part of the Seaboard Transportation's Group of Companies. Seaboard is a recognized leader in bulk chemical transportation throughout North America.

Today, AJW specializes in liquid chemical transportation and includes among its customer base, many of the largest chemical companies in the US and Canada. Traffic lanes between the Midwest, Southeast, and East Coast have been emphasized. AJW has developed a reputation as a fair, reliable, and responsive liquid bulk transporter.

The company incorporates a controlled growth philosophy and is constantly seeking to add owner operators and customers that will fit within its service parameters.
