At Giant, we’ve got history. American history to be specific. We began serving customers in the U.S. back in 1936 when N.M Cohen and Samuel Lehrman opened the first supermarket in Washington, D.C. Then, like the fresh food we sell - we grew. First in size, then in scale.

Giant is now a household name and leading the grocery business. We’ve achieved a lot, like expanding and providing new products and technologies and offering top-level service to every customer. We will continue to do all of this, and more, far into the future.
