Our roots extend back to 1975, when Louis Grato and his Sons founded a small family owned intermodal business in Bergen County, NJ. In 1987, the business moved to Port Newark and International Motor Freight was born. Over the decades, International Motor Freight has expanded to become one of the largest fleet owned intermodal carriers in the port of New York/New Jersey.

With 145 company owned late model power units, IMF is equipped to handle accounts big and small.

International Motor Freight currently operates out of a 7-acre facility in the Port of Newark. Our strategic location and close proximity to the ocean terminals and rail ramps affords us the flexibility to react quickly to the specific needs of our diverse customer base.
