John Sharp founded Sharp Transport in 1979 with one tractor. Sharp Transport Inc. has evolved into one of the largest family-owned truckload carriers in Middle Tennessee employing over 200 people. The main terminal is located in Ethridge, Tennessee, a small community in Southern Middle Tennessee. We also have an office and terminal located in Nashville, TN.

Sharp Transport Inc. has strong roots in Ethridge, as a dry van, general commodities 

carrier, Sharp shares much in common with many other carriers: competitive pay, good home time and excellent benefits. Sharp Transport Inc. President, Allie Sharp-Schwalb learned the business from her father John Sharp who is now Chairman of the Board. “The difference,” says Sharp-Schwalb, “is that we know how to treat people. I think it’s because we were raised in a small southern town where people know you by name.”

Sharp Transport truly is a family company, with three generations actively involved in the company. Chase Adkins, Corporate Vice President, is the third-generation family member and oversees many aspects of the company. “At Sharp Transport, we understand the importance of family and that having a work-life balance is crucial to all of our employees.
