Top 5 Music Streaming Apps

Published:

We all love cruising down the interstate with our favorite tunes turned up. What apps do you use to listen to music?

We’ve put together our ‘Top 5’ list of music streaming apps just for you!

5. Songza
This app was recently purchased by Google and is curated by celebrities such as Ke$ha, Justin Bieber, and many more. When the app is opened, it takes many things into consideration – including the time of day, weather, and more. From that, the app compiles a playlist from that information. There is both a free and paid version of Songza. The paid version, better known as Club Songza is $3.99 per month.

4. Rdio

Rdio is an ad-supported service that offers free, unlimited, web-based streaming, and playlist generation. With their mobile service, the cost of unlimited streaming is $9.99 per month, though they do offer free mobile streaming which is completely based off of user recommendations. Rdio also features a lot of local and independent music as it’s library is comprised of both major and indie labels and services like CDBaby.

3. Google Play Music
Google’s own streaming service is one to mention. They offer both free and paid subscriptions. The paid subscription is $9.99 per month but offers unlimited ad-free streaming. Another neat feature to note is that users have the option to upload music from their own computers to add to their library – so if you’re a fan of music that is a bit harder to find, you can now add it to your online library!

2. Pandora
Pandora was one of the first music streaming apps out there. They offer both a free and paid version. The paid account is only $4.99 a month. Pandora features a “Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down” rating system which when used improves your entire experience on Pandora. If you thumbs up a song or artist, they will recommend similar styles and artists to you. – A great way to find new favorite songs.

1. Spotify
One of the most popular music streaming apps on the market is Spotify which has over 40 million users across the globe. The app features a neat social networking feature with their service which allows users to both create and share custom playlists on Facebook, twitter, and many other forms. They offer both a free and paid version. The premium account is $9.99 per month, (if you’re a student you can get Spotify for only $4.99 a month)! Spotify works with many carriers – some will actually feature Spotify’s premium account for free for a trial period on a new line!
