Kentucky State Police have confirmed that the woman killed in a single vehicle crash on I-64 this morning was Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Inspector Benita Blanton.
KSP says that Blanton was driving a 2010 Crown Victoria eastbound on I-64 about nine miles east of Morehead when she lost control and left the interstate, crashing into an embankment.
Initial reports indicate that Blanton was on duty at the time of the crash.
Blanton was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Blanton was employed as a CVE inspector since December 2015.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
