Dash cam video from an Oklahoma Highway Patrol cruiser shows a close call involving a semi truck and a box truck.
The video was captured on the Turner Turnpike near Bristow, Oklahoma.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol explained what happened in the video clip:
“There were multiple crashes in the area and LT Richard Losurdo #127 had just given the semi driver his paperwork back. They were both outside their vehicles when LT Losurdo says he heard what sounded like a freight train. The semi traveling in the fast lane was driving too fast for the conditions and slid over into them. You can see LT Losurdo and the other truck driving go running off to the side of the road. Another good reminder to slow down and pay attention when you see flashing lights on the side of the road! This driver was in the left lane, so he had moved over like he was supposed to. But he was driving too fast for the slick roads and for having vehicles stopped on the shoulder.”
