Get a sneak peek at how a popular Tennessee truck stop shuttered by fire will look when it reopens

The Tennessean Truck Stop shared a “sneak peek” of new building designs ahead of the store’s reopening following a fire.

More than a year after the Tennessean Truck Stop (located off I-65 at Exit 22 in Cornersville Tennessee) was mostly destroyed following a July 2021 grease fire that started in the Tennessean’s restaurant, work is underway on a new 25,000-square-foot building.

On October 11, the Tennessean Truck Stop shared artist renderings of plans for the interior and exterior of the store following major construction work.

The rebuilt store will feature new amenities, including a full-service cocktail bar, an ice cream shop with donuts and coffee, and a quick-service deli with pizza, wings, and sandwiches. The Tennessean BBQ restaurant will also reopen with the same recipes but expanded seating and a rooftop deck near the second floor bar.

When construction began in August 2022, owners said that it would take about a year to complete the work and reopen the Tennessean Truck Stop.

The Tennessean Truck Stop has been in business since 1974.
