Kentucky coroner confirms truck driver found dead inside cab of parked truck

Officials in Rowan County, Kentucky, have confirmed that they found a truck driver deceased in his vehicle following a wellness check on Tuesday.

Around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, dispatchers in Morehead, Kentucky, responded to a call from a family member who was unable to make contact with a truck driver and felt concerned for his wellbeing.

The truck driver, a 55 year old male, was found deceased in his truck near American Legion Way, according to the Rowan County Coroner’s Office.

An autopsy will be performed by the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort, but no foul play is suspected.

The cause of death remains under investigation by Rowan County Coroner Northcutt and Rowan County Sheriff’s Department Detective Robbie Duncan.

Multiple agencies responded to the incident, including Morehead & Rowan County EMS, Morehead Fire Department, Rowan County Sheriffs Department and Morehead Police Department.
