Big rig goes into lake after driver followed his GPS down boat launch

Published:

A semi truck was partially submerged in a lake over the weekend after the driver followed instructions from his GPS down a boat launch.

The incident occurred before 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, in the town of Osoyoos located in British Columbia, Canada.

According to RCMP, a 54 year old male truck driver “was following his GPS guidance when it inadvertently took him down the boat ramp. Due to darkness, the driver did not realize until it was too late.”

After driving down the Osoyoos Lake Boat Launch, the truck became partially submerged in the water.

Local fire departments were called to the scene for a water rescue.

The truck driver was not injured, Castanet reports.
