Texas police are investigating a double fatality accident involving an oversized load that occurred in Temple over the weekend.
Authorities responded at 11:20 a.m. on April 27 to a crash on State Highway 36, west of Highway 317, in Temple, Texas.
According to Temple Fire & Rescue, “crews found an oversized load had come off of its trailer, pinning a vehicle beneath. The load being hauled by the transport fleet was approximately 350,000 lbs.”
Three people were inside the pinned vehicle. Two of those people were killed. A third person was airlifted for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Firefighters say that it took four hours to extricate the driver from the pinned vehicle.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
