Hey y’all, we’re back with another great music video to continue our series on Truck Driver Songs! This series of articles lets us look back at all the great country and rock n’ roll dedicated to the great American truck driver and all they do.
This time it’s a new country ballad from trucker favorite Dan Seals.
Throughout the 1980s and into the early 1990s, he released 16 studio albums and charted more than 20 singles on the country charts. Eleven of his singles reached Number One, including the song featured today, “Big Wheels in the Moonlight.”
The song was off of his 1988 release Rage On, which was his second biggest seller on the country charts.
Unfortunately, Dan left us at an early age due to complications from cancer. He died at his daughter’s home in Nashville, Tennessee in 2009. In an ever-shrinking stable of modern musicians who sing the praises of truck drivers, he will definitely be missed.
